The Discmen was founded in 1991 in Salinas, CA by several friends
hoping to have fun, make a little money and revolutionize the party
industry. We're still waiting for the revolution to come but The
Discmen is still around entertaining crowds near and far. The idea
for The Discmen came from an idea in a local magazine touting new
businesses for the new decade and we turned that article into a
thriving DJ service that has performed at over a thousand events.
Events have ranged from the typical (weddings, Christmas parties,
school dances) to the unique (U.S. Marine Corps Ball, barn dance).
Whatever the event is though, The Discmen has always strove to provide
excellent service with class and style.
Clients though have really made our history truly illustrious.
Whether it be for politicians, newly married couples, longtime married
couples, the thousands of students, dignitaries or common folk,
our clients have always been important and extremely special to
us. There have been ups and downs and lots of bumps along the way.
The Discmen has seen several locations including the Central Coast,
Central Valley, Bay Area and now we're rocking' the house in Sacramento,
our wonderful state capital. We obviously have a diverse knowledge
of the people and places of California and love going the extra
mile to make sure all those events came out a success.
As we enter our second decade of service, The Discmen, continues
to offer excellent service to brides, businessmen and school children
both near and far. Today The Discmen is run by one of the founders,
Mark Thompson as he handles both administrative activities and still
makes it to events to spin records (although records have given
way to CDs) to the delight of many a guest. We look forward to another
decade of outstanding parties and wonderful clients and hope that
you, if not already, will soon be part of The Discmen's history.
